As this sign proclaims, Calabash, NC is the Seafood Capitol. We stopped for
lunch at Beck's which first opened 40 years ago. Their specialty (like
everyone on the coast, it seems) is a heaping plate of fried seafood. It
all looks the same--whether it's shrimp, flounder, scallops, or crab! But I
have never had more tender fried seafood, so I guess that's why Beck's has
been around for so long.
